I’ve been told to keep my professional bio short and to the point. But that’s… Well, not really my style. I like writing, so I will just leave it as it is now.
I was born in July of 1993. My parents lovingly called me Gavin and saw a bright future ahead of me. Early on, though, it became clear that I wasn’t the run-of-the-mill child. I was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and received therapy for this. This helped me greatly and allowed me to focus on the things I liked.
From an early age it was obvious that I liked computers. This was during the time that computers weren’t as popular and mainstream as they are today, and people generaly didn’t have more than one of them in their homes, if one at all. We had one. My father jokingly told me that I was always hogging our computer. If I had any free time, I could be found sitting behind the desk, staring at the big TFT monitor as if my life depended on it. I would be surfing the net, playing flash games and as I got older, chatting with people on MSN.
I found great meaning in the building of websites. I started out with sites like Freewebs and Geocities, and later moved on to Microsoft Frontpage. Creating these online places gave me a great feeling of accomplishment, and it’ll come as no surprise that I found a career in web design and development.
Apart from my technical hobbies, I also really liked doing voices. I imitated the voices I heard on TV and created my own characters as well. I was ecstatic when I realised I could do a good impression of Smeagol from Lord of the Rings, and Yoda from Star Wars. I would do these voices at school, much to the delight of my peers and the chagrin of my teachers. In 2017 I auditioned for voice casting agency Inter Voice Over. I was picked as a voice.
I am Gavin, web designer, voice actor and general nice guy. I like to live life as fully as possible. I love my jobs and the people in my life. This is what I do.
